Ben,

Did you drill out the pipe on the housing? Those things come blocked in case they get used on a NA car which has no turbo to cool.

bs is right on that one! So remember, when you flush your system on a change of thermostat, do yourself a favor and change the inner seal on the water pump for when the thermostat opens and closes off the recirculation passage. If it is nicked, a small pc has gotten brittle and broken off; you will chase a slight problem of running very warm, not hot, but very warm.
