Default Oiling the window regulators

What do you mean when ya'll say, "When you're working on the window, take the time to lubricate the window and regulators and get it moving up and down?"

I'm replacing the motor and while I'm at it I should probably follow the advice. What exactly am I doing? Would I grease the metal bars themselves? Or are we talking the small black discs that need grease?

Thanks.
