The Zebra, has never been finished. Iknow Derrek is trying to get it done...but its been a very long project. It goes on the back burner alot. To this date there has been no finished weight for the car as it has not had the motor in it, or the basics...cell, wiring, seats etc etc...
It never had a carbon fiber tube. I know Huntley Was making, or was going to make those , but I don't think it went to market.
I would think the zebra, if it gets finished, would weigh in the neighborhood of 1800-1900lbs. This is just based on my guess from the point at which I quit work on it. I don't know what else has been cut or removed in the two years since.
Take Care!

Kind of odd they would let an unfinished car enter the starting grid of a racecourse.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that i've "probably" got the lightest 944 on this board.
It was'nt easy either...or pretty to get to 2166 lbs.
In addition to the glass/CF components listed above,i had to remove undercoating, install an aluminum fuel cell,re-make an ultra-lightweight wiring harness, use chromolly for cage and structural supports, and here's the killer....cut out the entire rear floor and wheel wells and replace them with sheet aluminum.
This car is as sparse as any you'll ever see.
I could go even lighter by: fiberglass roof, Vision torsion bar tube,Huntley Carbon torque tube (he has them).
these additonal mods are worth approx 200 lbs less..or 1970 lbs.! The estimated cost for them including labor on the roof only...$6,000.00
So how bad you want it?

Quick44....
I have really got to see that car!!!
If you are ever doing a track day the Phoenix Area let me know!
In the spring I might be do an event in South California so I might have chance to see it. You do the PCA Club Race at California Speedway last year? I am thinking about doing that one next year or some NASA events possibly at willow springs.

Hey M758,
Yeah,i ran the Cali Speedway PCA event this year.
INCREDIBLE race track.atleast in the configuration that PCA used.
Every other event i've seen there since has not used the outrageously high speed design PCA used, and rightly so. However, for those with the required experience...it flat wailed.
I expect to run a couple POC,PCA and Touring Car Club events next year..depending upon work and funding...i'll try to keep you informed.
