Talking Next weeks little project...

The wife and daughter are going on a ten day vacation next Friday so I’m planning some minor surgery on the 944 next week. I love uninterrupted garage time.
Here is the list:
1. Re align oil cooler housing
2. Flush & refill coolant
3. Re-tension belts
4. Clean ground points
5. Install 951 sway bars and new bushings
6. Install speed bleeders
7. Flush & bleed brakes
8. Pull intake manifold, clean ISV, and replace vacuum lines
9. Replace air intake J-boot
10. Fix windshield washer system
11. Replace wipers
12. Seal rear hatch glass with silicone (temporary fix)
13. Repair sunroof (broken cable tube)
14. Tighten driver seat upholstery
15. Rewire stereo (I have a loose wire somewhere that’s drivin’ me nuts!)
16. Adjust front toe in
17. Adjust E brake
18. Wash & wax

If anybody in the area wants to get dirty, the garage door will be up, and the beer is in the fridge.
I’ll be under the car.

Man.. I would be up there in a heartbeat... but gotta get mine done.

Preparing for the Fest are ya! I don't know if I am going to head up Saturday or Sunday morning.. so we may have to postpone the buffing session to a later date. Perhaps we can take a weekend down the road and do the whole car.

BTW... lot of work there.. hope you have enough time before the family comes home.. you'll catch hell if you are washing parts in the sink.

I bet he is getting it ready for the Tajmagaraj weekend coming up on 5/31 and 6/1. I'm going to post the flyer here on the list later on today for any local guys that may be interested.

Pete, have you pre-registered yet? From what I hear spots are filling up fast. It's gonna be twice the size of last year..

I may stop by next weekend if you don't mind another piece of german engineering in your driveway.

Gee, pity you have to wait for them to actually leave before you can dig into your car.

I only do minor stuff like oil changes and brakes, but I once had a gf who brought the bottles out to me from the kitchen, took away the empty ones and made funny comments about how dirty I was getting. Why can't they all be like that

Wade, No problem. Come on up.

Brian, stay home and finish your car!! I think I can do everything on the list in 3 or 4 days. I'm still undecided on Sat. or Sun. for the Fest. I'll go with the biggest caravan. I can clean the sink.

Tifo, stop by anytime. I guess I better get registered.

Luis, it's hard to work on the car with a 2 year old running around. She demands more attention than a 944. My wife always has house stuff for me to do. She doesn't understand that after all the work I've done to the car it still isn't finished.

Here's what I really want to know: How did you manage to convince your wife that leaving you by yourself for 10 days was a good idea?

Pete - which day do you expect to be re-tensioning the belts? I'd enjoy coming over to help. Plus, I'd like to bring my Kricket and get some calibration (I'll be re-tensioning mine soon). Which tool will you be using?

Thanks!

How's that 993 cab?
We need to set up a rematch on NFS.

I took it to a novice autocross session last weekend and was pleasantly suprised by how well it's balanced. Now if I can just convince the wife that I really need a 944 for my daily driver. Any advice on that one would be appreciated!

Unfortunately my motherboard decided to die on my home computer and after the rebuild I haven't re-installed Windows 98 yet. I need that in order to have any more NFS runs. Certainly by the fall/winter we'll have to give it another run.

Pete, just kidding about staying clean, not kidding about the beer. I'll stop by sometime next weekend, maybe same day as Tifo and Dale ?
