lol not a bad idea,
my window sticker says "24,205.00"
the guy ended up paying 27,991.00 when it was all said and done. so the first guy to the door with my 27,991.00 can drive it home.
i was thinking about 8K, but really, i dont think it'd be too easy to find another car like this one, its my baby.

honestly i dont think i'll ever sell it. when it becomes unreliable as a street car (ha yeah right) i'll turn it into a track car... and i wont have to weld the sunroof shut because there is none!!! muhahahahaha

By the time I am finished there will not have been any part of this car that has not been touched by my hands. I have been meticulous in its upkeep and restorations. The modification that I am doing have been up to this point minor but this is not going to stay that way.

Everything from the wiring to the suspension and motor is getting rebuilt to spec or better and no part is left out. SO far the front suspension has been updated and all bushings have been replaced or are in the process. The sway is out of a turbo 27 MM in size with new bushings, both struts have been replaced with new Sacks touring for now but changing over to the Koni adjustable inserts and the Paragon ride height kit. Currently there are the Weltmeister 250 AutoX springs and perches installed and functioning. Cross-drilled Zimmerman rotors where added along with a complete bearing replacement and new HP break pads. All parts have been R&R down to the dust cover for the bearings. Even the back break dust shield has been removed sanded, all rust removed and then repainted. I also Performed a complete R&R on the calipers then repainted both units in the front then fully flushed to remove years of neglect and correctly bleed the system. Also SS Dot 5 Break lines installed and the system was completely bleed. The control arm ball joints are perfect, I suspect the PO finally did something right and had them replace. Problem with that is he neglected the P/S pump that leaked all over the right underside of the car causing sever bushing damage. This prompted the complete R&R of the PS pump and rack with new rebuilt units and all accessory belts. I replaced the engine mounts with new and also I am now in the process of replacing the front control arm bushings with new Weltmeister reds and updating the rear to 968 casters and replacing all bolts just incase with new. That will just about complete the front end rebuild, as there is nothing left to replace or R&R.

All engine belts and gears have been done and a new water pump and radiator was added. All water hoses have been replaced with new.

All engine sensors have been replaced and the fan electrics I performed a complete R&R myself, rebuilding all the connections and heat wrapping all the lines. I have spent the time to replace many rusted nuts and bolts and will continue to do this as further restoration occurs.

Lets see, on to the rear suspension. This is the next big step and should be completed very soon. The break calipers will get the same treatment as the front and Cross drill Zimmermans will be added along with the SS break lines that I have sitting in my shop. The Bearings are also sitting in my shop ready to R&R the complete assembly. My goal is to remove the torsion rods and replace with coil over adjustable shock for ride high adjustability and performance. The 19mm Turbo Sway has already been added with new bushings and the half shaft will be R&R or completely rebuilt depending on condition Every thing under the rear end will be completely R&R and the under coat will be cleaned and under coat re-applied this winter. Also all bushings under the rear are getting replaced with Weltmiester replacements just because.

On to the tranny, I am on the hunt for a new/rebuilt tranny at a reasonable cost that is limited slip either an S2 or a turbo but this will be added along with new tranny mounts before spring.

A new fuel pump is on its way soon along with most of the line getting replaced due to corrosion.

ON to the engine work. I have a plan to allow Anderson motor Works to completely rebuild my engine to his 2.8. A Speed force headers will be added to the existing high flow exhaust system and heat wrapped to eliminate as much heat from under the hood as possible. Basically the entire engine compartment will be new/rebuilt down to the paint and heat shields before spring

I am also adding in the turbo headlight washer system just because and replacing both the Radiator over flow tank with new and Windshield washer tank with new.

On to the interior.

The dash and center console are being recovered in leather starting at the end of this month it is all set up and going to happen. New carpet is being installed “Black” and the rear compartment is going to be a secret to be reviled this spring. I am considering different race/street seats from Sparko to Momo. The Stereo will be an awesome thing to listen to and more.

All wiring in the car is going to be check and or replaced as needed and possibly a new engine management system added as well. There is so much more that is going to be done down to every last nut and bolt. The rims and tires are going to be added this spring as well.

Basically to sum things up because I am tired of righting, this car will be in as good if not better shape than when it rolled off the assembly line and ready for street or race conditions. Everything will work and the added alarm system and auto start will be a force to be reckoned with. I am leaving nothing to chance and will not settle for anything other than the best possible work available.

Fist off I don’t think I would sell this car, however, to be fair I suppose there could be a price tag put on it. But it would be an out of this world price tag considering all the time, improvements, sweat and blood that has gone into this project as of even right now. So that is where I will leave it. You decide what you think it will be worth. I am tired now and am going to go let me wallet rest.

Sorry if this is <img src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" border="0" alt="[offtopic]" /> but...

TaboII, where/how are you getting your dash and center console covered in leather? That sounds like a GREAT idea - the ultimate fix for dash cracks. Do you have to remove the dash to do the job?

Honestly, I WOULDN'T even think about buying my current car. I would be lucky to get 2 grand out of it. But I still keep it and drive it till it dies.
