Post funny story

after the princeton swap and show i followed another 951 owner back to his place to install a new battery. after installing and checking out each others cars he told me a funny story how he got his car: a friend of his had bought it for 4500 bucks from a porsche dealer w/ the symptoms "car runs like @#$%, cars @#$%'d up", he then bought the car from his friend which decided it was too much work. upon inspecting the car he found it had one extra problem.....a terry cloth rag stuck inside of his inlet to the airbox hehehehe. we laughed about that and i was going over my engine tightening some loose hoses...i decided to pull my air box to get a couple more hoses i couldnt reach. i look down my inlet tube just to be funny......well ill be dipped in @#$%.... the the gasket/boot that surrounds the inlet and fits up against fender was sucked inside of my inlet tube!!! since ive owned the car the gasket was never there, so its been in there for a while. heheheheh

I changed airfilters right after I got my car and found that something had nested in there for a while. Lots of nutshells. I've fabricated a screen cover for the inlet to avoid that for the future.

Cool

I just remember something along this line.

About a month after buying my car, I took to the shop to put it on a dyno for a baseline. It was down on power for what it was supposed to be; 209RWHP with the MAF and chips. I couldn't figure it foe about 2 weeks. One day when washing and waxing, I decided to clean the K&N filter. When I rinsed that thing I swear the Mississippi river flowed out. That made a huge difference. What amazing what a little oyxygen can do....

A couple of years ago I bought my ramcharger that I sadly lost to an accident a year later.

Got it for $1100 Because it was a complete pain to start and ran like hell + the battery wasn't getting charged.

Bought from a dealer who did small work.

A new set of plugs (The old ones almost looked original) and replacing 1 wire. total outlay less than $20.

From then on she started first time everytime and never had a charging problem.
