Question Oil Pan Removal

Ok, Settle this issue! I have read manuals that state it's not nessesary to remove engine to remove the oil pan. But also have heard that it does need removed to get the pan out. 87 924S..What is the correct answer!? Thanks! D

Well this is a two-fold answer.

You can remove the oil pan from the motor with out fully removing the motor from the car but it requires that you remove the main engine support in order to get it off with out damage.

You will need to support the motor from above.

Then you can successfully remove and support both steering assemblies “wheel hub breaks and steering knuckle control arms” then remove the Maine engine support before attempting to remove the pan itself. IT is a PITA but can be done.

I Sent you email to you listed email address regarding your engine oil leak question take a look.

Or remove the Motor which you may have to do any way to make it easer to resolve the other problem you asked me about.
