Porsche engineers knew that the typical Porsche owner would be smart enough to not need that switch.

It doesn't stop me from hitting my starter while in gear once or twice a year.

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to Rennlist! Please post some pics and introduce yourself in a thread when you can!

ok thanks guys im clear on that part. anyway just got out from under my dash and i have this switch looking deal with 2 brown wires coming from it, its mounted to a bracket and the clutch pedal hits it when up. is this cruise related? its similar to one on brake pedal. if so i might just replace it as it doesnt appear to " click" like one on brake . tried my manuals and clarks garage , cant find a thing. thanks for any help, this cruise thing has me stumped.

Yes that would be the cruise interrupt switch (or whatever it's called).
