Post OT: 998 and direct fuel injection

Just read a short article that Porsche is working on a direct fuel injection motor. I thought that U.S. fuel was a problem for DGI. Any insight on this. BTW, 998 should be around 2004/5 after 997.

Direct injection is where all gasoline engines are headed. More power and lower emissions. Have you seen a fuel injector and sparkplug integrated into one housing? How about the sparkplug firing on a point in the center of a piston? This technology is on the road today.
