Unhappy broken windshield

i am an idiot... i took off my hood to replace my engine and when i went to put the hood back on, i dropped it on my windshield. there are two nice cracks in each of the lower corners of the windshield. what are the usual prices for a new windshield for a 944?

My w/shield is different than yours (pre '85.5 is not flush with the framing), but I've been quoted between 225 and 450! Yes, twice as much! Both prices included all parts and installation. I was shocked at the variance, so please, call around.

Good luck.

I had my 86 re-sealed and the replacement cost was $800 (aftermarket) if they cracked it...good news was they didn't.

This past spring I had the tinted windshield in my 83 replaced with an aftermarket piece for $235, completely installed at my home by a reputable mobile installer.

A good time to look for alternative antenna options and go with an aftermarket windshield!?

I am still thinking about getting a small screw-on antenna, which would mean a regular non-wired windshield would be possible. I figure, if a Vette has a small antenna gracing it's body....
