I guess I'm part of that 99%. When I had the tranny out of the car(replaced clutch) I DID NOT replace the wire like it had. Fast forward 6 mos. (after headgasket, new valves and lots of polishing and cleaning) my wife is driving the car to the house I'm remodeling and I'm following when she pulls over and says she can't find any gears. Being male and not believing her I tried my luck and same thing happened to me. After about 10 min I was able to find 2nd and finish the drive. The car sits in the garage until I finish the house and I think I know exactly where to look. By the way this happens to tranny's with the short shift kit installed (which is something I highly reccomend).

My car is 20 years old(yeah '82), I have put over 20k kilometers on it. And yes I drive the heck out of it. A lot of miles on the autobahn, I usually set the cruise control on 160 or 170km. Not one problem so far. This car feels so solid I have complete confidence in it.

I feel for you guys that have these great cars and have to drive them in the U.S.

this car has been through endless burnouts, doughnuts, drop clutch style 0-60 runs, downshifts from 5th to 2nd, etc.)

Thats the best thing Ive heard all day! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
