So I walk out to the car Saturday morning ready to go to Seattle, and one rear tire is totally flat. I was highly annoyed, and figured I'd be making a trip to Firestone with the spare, or something. I inflated the tire with my neighbor's compressor figured I'd wait a bit to see what happened. I drove the ford into town for the day, and came back late last night. The tire hasn't gone down at all!
I'm not much of an expert in how/why a tire can go flat, other than the obvious stuff, but I can't think of any reasonable explaination, other than some neighbor kid or my evil twin letting the air out, which seems very unlikely. I feel like taking it in to have it looked at anyways, if for nothing else than to give me a little peace of mind.
Anyone have a tire do this? It's a Potenza re950 216/60r15 on an 8" fuchs.
P.S. I have pictures up now, www.dangerisland.com/944 for anyone who cares to look.

Had it happen several times on my Talon. Do you have sticky weights or the ones that are clamped to the rim?
I found that the ones that are clamped on (or hammered to be exact) can cause the bead to leak if you park at just the right angle.
I walked out one day and the tire was almost out of air. This was like the 3rd time in a month, and I decided to find out why. I took the bottle of Coke (all I had) and dumped it around the rim where the tire meets. Sure enough, right at the corner of that weight, there were bubbles.
I took the weight off, re-balanced with sticky weights, and never had a flat again with that car.

They appear to be safe enough, although there is an infestation of honda civic tuner highschool riceboys up about 4-5 houses. Maybe they're just jealous.
Mostly they're just 6-10 year old girls that ride their bikes around. My window at my desk overlooks the whole street, so I can watch them run into things. One of them bumped into the ford one day, I nearly killed her.

Did u notice it going low at all? If I were you I would take it to get looked at. Make sure they check the valve stem, around the rim, as well as the actual rubber. Also, if you can, find a place the uses plug patches, not just plugs or just patches. Otherwise, you will most likely be going back. Another thing to consider is that if it is a V or higher, sometimes even an H rated tire, the speed rating can be compromised depending on where and how big the damage is. If only you lived by me, I would check it and fix it for free.

I had this happen once, I was waiting at a corner and took off on the hard side. Turning right at the same time. Tire was flat when I went out to the car at the end of work.. near as I could tell the tork from the turn and accel, had broken the bead?? reset it self after reinflate? Just a thought. no problems since. I just chalked it up to a low tire to start with.
