Thumbs down Pirelli 600's, what crap!!!

When I signed the deal for a new Aurora Thursday, the dealer met my price on the trade for the Legend coupe. I had the snows on steel rims with hubcaps on the car. I have to give him the alloys.

Not willing to part with the new Michelin Pilot XGT's on the alloys I went to a local tire shop and put the Pirelli 600's with 22k (one is brand new - spare) that came from the factory on my brothers 93 325i.

The pirellis are noiser, rougher etc. than the Michelin snow tires, which are noisier the the Pilots, which are noisier than the Michelin MXV's that came from tht factory on the Legend.

I cant believe BMW let a car out of the factory with such crap on them. Are all pirellis this lousy? My friend test drove the car yesterday thinking of outbidding the dealer. I feel guilty selling him the car with these crappy tires on it.

The good news is the Aurora 4.0 comes from the factory with 17" Michelin MXV's.

Thumbs down

Pirelli 600s are TERRRIBLE! I had them on my '94 Prelude a few years back...they were exactly like you said + they don't hold road well at all.

They weren't bad in their day, but IIRC the P600s replaced the P6s around '85 so we are talking about 17 year old tire technology. Tom you found a good use for 'em
