Exclamation Do we have a problem?

Why do we attract jerks like AMAF, JJK, etc. Are we so obsessive about our Porsches that we are targets for idiots like that to post here and stir it up?
By replying to this crap we just keep feeding the fire and these morons just sit back and laugh at us. I, for one, will never again be baited to post on one of these ludicrous topics again. If we all ignore these bozo’s they will get bored and go back to playing with themselves.
There have been a few posters here that have gotten a lot of grief but I don’t believe they were intentionally trying to get a rise out of us. Craig comes to mind. I think he was just young and excitable. Actually, he hasn’t posted in quite a while. I hope he didn’t hurt himself with that 951 he bought.
Bottom line, let’s talk cars, Porsches specifically. I’ve learned more about my car from this list than I would have learned anywhere else. This list is an invaluable resource to all of us. Let’s keep it that way.

Sorry for the rant but I do feel better now.

Thats a big ten four good buddy!

I think the problem in not Rennlist specific, I used to lurk about a Las Vegas BBS (before they tuned the town into a "family attraction"... and ruined it IMO) and periodically some jerk would drop in and start insulting people. Who knows what motivates these people, probably something like uncle Joe who stands on the corner and waves his ***** at traffic, just a few fries short of a happy meal.

One thing I do know they seem to revel in the attention, I'm sure this guys is watching the number of post skyrocket and that is bringing joy to his twisted little world.

So do as I say not as I do, yes I got sucked into that post and yes the best way to get these dorks to go away is NOT to respond to their trolls.

A few years ago, there was a great automotive chat room, "Wheels". Lots of interesting folks, I even got to meet some. Cobrabldr, Fat41, NOSVAIR, and others. The kids would sneak in and try to take over. Ultimately, the chat room, although still there, emptied out. We even created a private chat room. Somehow, these ignorant little punks followed us there. No matter where you go, you will find these creeps that hide behind their anonymity.

BTW, as you can see from the names of some of the "chatters" i mentioned, it was a diverse group. Everyone respected everyone else's ride and tried to help where they could.

I miss it.

I agree completely. I "watched" this board for nine months before I ever posted. I learned how to do my tranny mounts, my engine mounts, my speedo cable, my master/slave clutch cylinders, my battery tray, etc., etc., etc. All of this was learned by searching the previous threads. Everybody on this board has been extremely helpful to me (with the exception of one delinquent).

With that said, I agree that the thing that bugs me the most is that people try to argue with these "trolls." I learned after my first few posts that you aren't going to change anybody's mind on a discussion forum. I get a tickle when I see somebody post their opinion and then say "don't post anymore on this thread" because they want it to stop. If they felt compelled to post their thoughts, why not let others???

Anyway, yes there is a problem. Fortunately, the search feature will still solve many P-car problems!

Long live the search!!!

I think this is a great site, even if I have only been on for a few months. I have been drawn in a few time and when I realize what's going on I jump out. I have owned Porsche's since 1959 and I wish this resourse was available then.
Thanks to all who support this site.
