Doing SS Lines on front brakes. Need a little help.
#1 Here is my dilema. There is a tab tha attaches to the car that the brake line runs through right before it connects to the hard line. It appears to have a 17mm retaining nut on the rubber brakeline but I cant seem to figure out how to get the rubber hose off of the tab.
#2 Do I still use this tab once I get the ss lines on?
Car is an 89 NA ABS
Thanks,

It is / was the one on the fender well. I got the fender well figured out but the strut has a mounting point for the brake line using a rubber grommit that I cannot get off the old brake line without cutting it. Should I cut it?
Thanks for the quick reply

When I did my stainless lines I cut the old line in half to get that rubber grommit off, then I spent about 10 minutes per line pushing it over the new stainless line end. It was a pain in the *** but it is possible.

Grab the tab tongue with pliers and pull. Yes, it gets reused. You undo that junction by turning the 11mm fitting and holding onto the 17mm nut. Be sure to use tubing aka flare nut wrenches. I used silicone spray and a screwdriver on the rubber grommet to facilitate R&R. Be sure to have rags etc ready for the brakefluid that will come out. I read somewhere that someone used a little plug to stem the endless steam.
