Good luck guys...sorry I can't join in. If my flight gets cancelled (lot of rain out there now....hmmmm) and I can't make it to N.O. I will try and come by.

Remmber for us "larger gals", with regard to the "jostling" for position, the formula of:

F = M x A.

If you've got enough M (Mass), you don't need nearly as much A (Accelleration) to send those puny-**** guys flying (Force) into the wall. LOL

have fun

Well, Team Rennlist (Keith, Pete, and myself) had a less than stellar night. We placed 9th of 11, but......

We lost 4 laps for equipment changes! The first kart we had suddenly lost all power and had to be replaced.

The second kart (which was the fastest, and for me handled really nicely) blew the RR tire on me while passing the pits. Pissed me off. Keith didn't care for it much, but it did everything I wanted it to and once I got used to it, I started catching one of the front running teams. Probably would have passed him to if the tire didn't blow.

The last kart we had took a lot out of me. I had to really muscle it around and it didn't want to turn very well. When I could get it to turn, I lost too much rear bite to carry my momentum. I did find though through the really tight esses leading into a tight hairpin, I could just hammer the damned thing, understeering all the way, but it would still get around the corner. Very strange behavior for a kart. Usually, once they understeer they are pigs.

And if that wasn't enough, to add insult to injury, the computer lost most of our lap times, even though it scored us. I wonder if it lost some laps on us too.

In the end, before hardware problems set in, we were running as high as 5th and holding our own quite well. We might have had a shot at 4th (maybe) if the hardware problems had not developed. We lost too many laps because of that.

Next time, of course.

Team Chrome Turbo (Ross, and my SE-R pal Bruce) took home 7th. Ross was a wild man. He took over half way through Bruce's last stint (Bruce was getting overheated) so Ross did the last 1.5 stints. He also put down some extremely good lap times near the end, putting down the 3rd best team lap time of the night. Way to go Ross.

All in all, we sweated a lot and our arms hurt. Oh, and we had a lot of fun as well. I'm personally looking forward to the next time.

My arms are not as sore as I expected, but my back has some sensitive spots at the moment. The seat in that last kart was not very comfortable for me. Ouch.

Arms are so sore I had to let Joyce drive home last night. Great seeing you guys again.
Pete - big thank you for driving all the way from Beaumont!
Ross - great job driving!
Bruce - I think we need to bring a bucket of Gatorade for me and you next time.
Geo - the mechanical gremlins toasted our chances this time (well that and the skinny ringers that kept passing us)!
It's was great fun. Maybe my arms will return to normal in a day or two!

I'm with you guys, my arms are a little sore, my hands are really sore from gripping that steering wheel so hard. I think next time I might use gloves. I never thought I could sweat so much either. I was still soaked when I got home. But it was a blast. I've never had so much fun with a kart. It was great meeting all you guys. Definitly looking forward to the next time.

Damn them all to hell.

Oh well, it's tough when you give up as much as 80-90 lbs on a 400 lb package. Well, that's why I'm "working on my set-up" (dieting).

How about some photos of the action...

Team Rennlist One - Left to Right - Keith (icat), George (Geo), and Pete (PeteL)

Ross (Teke951) in cart, and Bruce during driver change.

Keith (icat) coasting to a stop after blowing the engine in the first round!

Now how's that for action! Thanks to the offical photographer for this event - Joyce (my better half)!
