Default Cause of wheel rub?

I just changed wheels and tires from 8x15 225 60 profile tires to 9x17 255 45 in the rear. I am having a bad rub on the left rear tire going around sharp right hand corners. It rubs at the front of the fender well. The right side does not rub at all. Sitting on level ground both wheels seem to sit the same distance from the fenders. Is there anything in the suspension that could be going bad or misaligned to cause this? Should I just roll the front inner edge of the fender and not worry about it?

What's the offset on the old rims vs the new rims?

Car seems to be abt stock height. I know that for my cars, recommended 17in. tire is 255/40 at the rear.
Maybe weak TB or shocks?
Yeah, what chrenan said, forgot abt offset since it is one side only.

I have the same problem. 944 rear wheels move forward relative to the body under hard cornering or acceleration (squat). If you push down on the rear of the car, and watch what the wheel does, you'll see what I mean. Also, the rear suspension (torsion bar carrier) is asymmetrically mounted (hole on one side, slot on the other, can't remember which is which). It seems that this ends up causing the wheels on many 944's to be closer to the driver side rear fender than the passenger side.

Anyway, the short answer is: you either need to roll the fender lip a little bit, or put on narrower rear wheels or tires, or higher offset wheels.
