Default Removing clock '86 944

Ok the Hayes manual is no help and the shop manual (at least the one I have printed out) does not show how to remove the clock per se.

It seems like the panel is still stuck on the left hand side right next to the emergency flasher switch.

I think I have everything else undone what am I missing? I don't want to pry on the panel and break something if I am missing a screw somewhere.

The trim for a/c unit needs to come off. The left side of the trim is attached underneath 2 screws that hold the control unit in place. You need to remove all 4 screws. Did you remove the screws on the side (door must be opened and trim removed) There is also one behind the circular vent (vent needs to be turned then removed. Hope this helps.

Hi F4OLM, See the link below for Dash removal. If you are not careful you will end up breaking the long strip where the clock is located.

Yep followed the Clark's and it worked like a charm, for the most part. I ended up breaking the panel peice in front of the AC control, and I BARELY touched the darn thing. Oh well, it was on the parts car.

I bought a new trim piece and cut the left tabs off with a dremel. It's a really crappy design and those tabs dont do much. It helps if you remove the glove box to get your hand in there and work out the connections. Be very careful pushing in the hazard button...those tabs break if you look at them funny. That little circle/vent cover is even worse...
