Maybe I'm imagining things, but I think I read on this board that either PCNA or PCA has a service where you can give them your VIN and they will provide some history of the car such as manufacture date and whatnot.
I've looked on both their websites and do not see a reference to such a service. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, what info it provides and how to go about it? Thanks for any help.

Elf,
It is the "Certificate of Authenticity" which lists the VIN, options, etc. all on a framable piece of paper. It is available from PCNA and runs about $40.00(I think). I got mine when I first bought the car, so I no longer have the pertinent contact info, but check Pano or Excellence as both regularly run ads for the service. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

AKA "Cardex," issued by PCNA.
I believe it's advertised in this month's issue of Excellence, or you may contact PCNA at ph: 770-290-3500 or fax: 770-290-3700 to confirm price and details.
Generally, it identifies the serial number, model year, engine code, transmission number, exterior/interor colors. Also optional equipment is listed.
It is dated and signed by a PCNA Customer Commitment Representative, and comes in a nice presentation folder with a cover letter. I believe it costs $35.
Send your request, along with payment and proof of ownership (a copy of your vehicle registration or title) to:
Factory Cardex Information
(Certificate of Authenticity)
Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
Attn: Wayne Stone
980 Hammond Drive, Suite 1000
Atlanta, Georgia 30328
Your certificate should come from Germany in 6 to 12 weeks.
