I have been working on getting two of these removed. I'm only removing the ones that are bad. I have the pin stripe removal tool, but I can get one of them off. Its on there good.

i used a blow dryer and a plastic scraper. then i used the 3m adhesive wheel which i think burned some paint. goo gone didnt cut it for me. what worked awesome on the last bit was the paint prep stuff i had. i bought a gallon for less than the eraser wheel and used just a bit to get the goo off.

I used the heat gun and it removed the plastic part very well. I tried that 3M adhesive wheel many years ago and it burned the paint. Maybe I had the wrong RPM or something. I had much better luck with xylene for the adhesive but have never tried it with clearcoated car. It worked great on a solid color.

You do want to be careful with a real heat gun. Some of them can produce 600 F plus air temps.

I got the two rock guards that were all cracked off. I'm not going to remove the other ones unless, they crack. What a job that was.
