Yeah .. I am having a really hard time too .. the things are not easy to push it .. I have to put all my body weight on top of it and then some to get it to contract. I ordered mine from Pelican. Might they be the wrong ones? .. long story short .. my upper fender is scratch, the hood's on the garage floor .. I lost a clippy thing .. hood is scratched a little .. bracket is bent .. I am frustrated .. I have crap from the hood liner ALL over me ..
