Thumbs up Now that the 944 passed smog...

I'm getting 35 mpg on the freeway, w00t! Also replaced the fuel filter and some fuel lines a month ago. In case you missed the smog thread my 944 was running a little rich resulting in too much carbon and failed emissions. The tech there tuned the A/F and now I'm getting sweet mileage. For reference my 968 gets 29 mpg freeway with the AC on, not sure what it gets without.

trevor,

how are you measuring your fuel economy? I find it hard to use a full tank of gas under one specific set of conditions (unless it's a road trip and i'm looking at freeway milage), and i'm unwilling to run my car out of gas, and i don't trust my "low fuel" idiot light to be accurate to better than a few tenths of a gallon.

i got 29 m/g on my way down to the pizza run with intermittent use of ac mainly for defrosting... i'd say it was on less than half the time. is this consistant with what other people with turbos get on the freeway?

Hey Ben, how was it pulling Gabe's motor?? I really wish I hadn't been working all day, damb! Anyway, I've always had faith in my fuel light illuminating so I drive for an additional 50 miles or so after it comes on. Then I refuel and make note of how many gallons I've pumped. When I get back into the car I reset my tripometer [while the car is at rest!] and go until I feel like I'm gonna run outta fuel again. =) I RARELY fill the tank completely...just $10-20 here and there. Of course you know the rest, just dividing your mileage by the amount of fuel you pumped at the gas station.

Guys,
Glad to hear from both of you on this topic. I would like to state that the Super-poo gets 28 m/g at WOT 24/7! I cant go the speed limit unless its to the floor
Trevor, Are you going to be able to make it to this weekends Barn Raisin? Ben, are you going to be able to make it? This weekend intales putting the engine on the engine stand and starting to remove all the parts off the engine to prepare it for the machine shop (santa cruz auto part's machine shop). Trevor, do you have any pics from Sears point last weekend? <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

Hey NorCal guys,

I haven't met any of you guys yet since I'm pretty new to the area and have been preoccupied with school. But school's over for a while... I missed the recent adventures, but it sounds like you guys are getting together again this weekend? What's the where/when details?
