Post (no) heating problem

Last week, I blew one of the hoses off the heater control valve. When I looked to re-attach it, I noticed the valve inlets were broken/rotted/whatever and decided to replace the valve. I ordered a new 1 from pelican parts, and in the meantime, just ran the hose straight to the other side, bypassing where the valve should be. The last few days have been our 1st cold ones since I bought this car so I wanted to use some heat, but it blows cold. There is plenty of coolant. What could keep me from getting warm/hot air? Thanks in advance.

If you bypassed the heater control valve then you wouldn't get any coolant flow to the heater core. That would certainly cause the no heat problem.

Well, I only removed the heater valve and the hose closest to the block, this doesn't really bypass anything, does it? It just removes the heater valve and lets the coolant flow uninhibited. I would think this would give me heat all the time, not no neat at all.

check prior threads for "coolant/ overheating problem" if there is a bubble in the system, you should overheat with no cabin heat.. my .02

i had the same prob after i completely drained my system after a new lower rad hose install..

i cant remember the method for completely filling the antifreeze/ coolant, but i know its here somewhere..
