Default Headlight switch removal

Hey folks. Working on this now. I have the headlight switch out of the dash and trying to remove it from the socket. I pushed in the three retaining tabs and it is slowly coming off but has now become very difficult and not budging much. I don't want to keep prying to find out I'm destroying the socket. Should it be this difficult to remove? Should I hit it with some WD-40 or Blaster? Thanks.

Hi, I don't have a switch right before me, but if the catches are released, the plug should pull on off. Use Electrical Contact Cleaner on the switch and work it back on and off at the plug end. I have had to use a small screw driver to help some switches come apart.

Cheers,
Larry

Thanks Larry. The contact cleaner did the trick. Came off easily once I gave it a few squirts. I just didn't want to pry too hard cause I always end up with a handful of plastic chips when I do that. Thanks again.
