Post RHD battery wiring

Does anyone know how they wired the cars with the battery in the back, specifically how they wired the ground to the bellhousing? I mean, did they ground the body and have that serve as the conductor to the engine or did they run an additional cable to improve flow when starting.

You'll find an earthing strap between the engine and the bulkhead. It grounds to the bulh head just behind the rear cam covers and quite easy to get at.

So the battery is "Earthed" at the back of the car and the engine is connected to the body bulkhead only? The U.S. cars have that particular ground point (bellhousing) wired directly to the battery

As Bruce says mine has a strap from engine to bulkhead and from battery to body (in boot). Hope that helps.

Those cars must have real ground nightmares. Worse than the early LHD 944s that did the same except negative ground off battery was by firewall.

How large a cable do they run for the positive and how is it routed? Is it fused?
