Question Gasket Removal Help!

Anybody have any tips to make removing old stuck on gaskets easier? Specifically the gasket between the cylinder head and cam housing. Mine is pretty stuck on and it will take me a week to get it off with a scraper. Also, what is the best stuff to use to clean up the inside of the cam tower where the lifters and oil passages are? Mine is full of varnish and old nasty oil. PO only changed the oil every 15K like Porsche said to do. Total of 175K miles changed every 15K = goop

You can use Gunk Cleaner to get most of it off and finish it off with Carb Cleaner. Use a small round parts cleaning brush. As for the gasket, patience, a razor blade and plenty of elbow grease. Care must be taken not to gouge the aluminum surface.

Cheers,
Larry
