Reverse Light Bulbs

Michael, the real good Leds from HP should last nearly forever, some people claim 250,000 hours, though they haven't even existed for 250,000 hours so don't know how that claim can be supported.
But they are pretty expensive and don't work well if you are trying to light through an existing piece of colored plastic, like we are doing. I have many laying around for the tests.
They work great if you are trying to display a monochromatic light, like red, and just slap a thin LED structure on the back of a car or truck.
I guess what I'm saying is that they are great if you start with a clean sheet of paper. We are stuck with our colored plastic lenses and need to make the best of the situation in a cost effective manner.

Hi Iceshark, Hadn't seen any more on this (maybe I missed it) no rush, just wondering if there had been an update on the trials? Can I also add two more trick halogens to my order, picked up another 951. Thanks Glen
Edit Sorry Iceshark just saw another post of yours, realise I hadn't missed the release of your bulbs, sorry to hear about your loss.

Ok, time to revive this thread. I would like to place the bulb order next week.
I have enough bulb sockets for everyone that wanted them and there are another 29 left in the North American inventory system. So, I guess 28/2 = 14 dead light upgrades. Then it is off to the parts breakers for old Hella sockets.
I started a new thread for the orders at:
