saratoga glass sunroof
There's this cheap saratoga top on ebay that I'm thinking about but it has a missing hinge. How easy would it be to fix? Is saratoga still around??

That could be an interesting project. To replace that "bracket", You'll need to have a special block milled, probably out of aluminum. It's not a very complex piece, but it would need to be precise. Gluing it in place shouldn't be a problem. Saratoga is history. I believe the seller's claims about the "latest model of top" with the frame is incorrect. I have seen framed vs. riveted, and the rivet version with no frame had a later serial number.
Good Luck!

I e-mailed the seller (nice guy by the way) and he says the remaining guide is a hard plastic like ABS. I wonder if it would be possible to retrofit the lifting guides from the metal sunroof. If not, I think I may contact a machine shop friend about fabricating a billet piece like you mentioned. This sounds like a reasonably easy project. The saratoga tops without the rivets look nicer in my opinion.

No offense, but I think the framed kind on our cars look horrible. If you're going to do it, do it right, and get non-framed Saratoga.

Redshift, my mother has one of those laying around for a 86 N/A...never used as far as I know! (The car was bought when i was a toddler!) and she might be willin to part with it, leather case and all!

Matt: No offense taken but I personally don't like the rivets because they remind me of t-tops from a pontiac firebird. I can't fault the framed version after looking at these pics:

Mike: you should post it on ebay!
