I read/skimmed that enitre thread and was about to post when I got to the end and realized that it was locked. They do have another thread to show support. They had a list of over 100 forums that signed in and showed support. I looking to see if anyone from rennlist called out. Not yet...

Apparently they got a lawyer and the lawyer said not to make any more comments on the BBS's, so hopefully it will be over soon so we can find out what happened.

It's a sad world. Oh that's right, it was JUST a Mustang.

OK, just kidding...

I worked at a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership just out of high school for a little over 3 years and yes, the service department was a joke. All I can say is, I love MY mechanic.

I read all 12 pages of the thread and only have one thing to say... why is there an enthusiasts forum for Nissan Sentras?!? Seriously though, this thread made it to dozens, maybe hundreds of boards all over the world... who knew that there were that many of "us" out there?

I took my car to a place with nearly half a tank of fuel & when I got it back it had 50 more miles on it and the reserve light on. I had no real evidence of this abuse as I hadn't noted the figures beforehand - so my word against theirs - It hasn't gone back to them. I make a point of making sure that any service department know that I know the current mileage when it has to go in. Half a tank in 50 miles! (shudder) I don't want to know the details though I imagine the rev limiter got a workout

I remember reading a story by a cop who caught a guy in a Ferrari running in the 100 - 140 range- off and on- said he was really getting on it. Turnd out to be a mechanic- said the car was having probs that only occured above ~120. Cop said it was so original, he let him go...

Danno- definately more of a Viper plate...

The Type R/Cobra comparison- I don't understand the point really- I mean 9 to 3- why don't they just say the Cobra has three times the TQ of a Type R- of course, I didn't realize a Cobra had 390TQ(?). Whatever... I still wouldn't mind a Type R- they have INCREDIBLE brakes- several professional test pilots said they had the best brakes of any car they'd ever been in- one even said including the race cars he'd been in! Someone here recently said something about Type R's being cool, but not having nearly the braking potential of our's- I wasn't in the mood- I'd say something now, but... Anyway, the newer Mustangs are starting to look a little better IMO- not that I'd really like to own one, but...

Anyone watch- Grounded For Life? I don't know all the names. Last week: Lilly (16yrs) got a '67 Mustang from her Grandad (mom's side). Her mom (?) & dad (Shawn) take it out for a drive and end up beside a "F&F" car. Shawn brags- it's a "302 V8," etc, while reving. F&F guy rev's up- Shawn asks "Did someone turn on a blender?" I thought it was hillarious. F&F wants to race for the key's- Mom think's Shawns a sure thing- "this thing's got, like, a million HP...they're in a little Matchbox car..." Shawn says he's not going to take their car- just "teach them a lesson." F&F says "On green"- Shawn taunts him w/"okay...esse" did I spell that right? Funny, nonetheless- of course F&F wins... I just thought the whole scene was hilarious... Okay, maybe it loses a bit in translation Had to be there...?

I just read part of that thread. My friend is an engineer at Ford. He was talking about the $100,000 GT40 that's coming out. I had one reply: At the end of the day, it's still a Ford.

If a tech did that to my car, not only would he be fired: the dealership would be replacing the car for me. Or so I would argue in court. There's all kinds of hidden damage that could have accrued that would not manifest itself until later on. I rather suspect the judge would be receptive.

When somebody violates their fiduciary duty to you, damages can get pretty spectacular. It would take a little bit of creative argument, but it would be worth making it... win or lose in court, it would be fun to watch the bastards squirm.

I not surprized to here the dealer may be 'rethinking' as this post has just made it to Bangladesh -- alligotisahalfbowlofrice.com -- I mean replies from lawn care and fish websites -- in a week there won't be a person in the free world who hasn't seen the thread (up to 14 pages!and who knows how many websites) and if the dealer doesn't think that people in the San Antonio area haven't heard about it, and it's going to cost him some bidness, the he's dummer than the tech!!!

Cost the dealer some business? This will likely put him out of business! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

Let's see here: a so called Mustang expert tech that is in the leading position for a Darwin Award runner-up spot (since he didn't kill himself) posts all the details of his criminal activities on this new technology that is changing the way the Planet operates. In a car specific enthusiasts' forum. Thinks the WOMAN is obviously too stoopit or unaware to come across the thread.

Supposed "top notch" dealer tells her to take a flying leap on trying to make things right for her. Word spreads across the internet like wild fire to web sites that are so unrelated and far flung that it attracts the attention of major media outlets. And remember Jay Leno is a motorhead. Darwin Award runner-up #2, the Dealer, does nothing to head this unexpected phenomenon off at the pass and give Tracy a new car and service it for free for as long as she owns it.

Too late now, bonehead. This story is causing such a world wide sensation, show of support and geometric expansion that servers are crashing down.

I LOVE IT. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Hey...rather than simply posting on the Rustang site, I e-mailed Northside Ford in San Antonio asking them if they had any openings for a good automotive tech to replace the knuckle dragger they were forced (through public opinion) to can. There is a complaint board against this dealer; I ran across it when searching their web address. BTW...they have no "direct e-mail", so if you are brave enough, you have to leave your name and phone #. I didn't swear or use inflammatory language, just let the nice people know there were, web and world wide, over one million hits and some interest from the press.

It felt good just to be able to rag a dealer...

That was amazing to watch, this afternoon in the time it took to read 1 page 2 more popped up.

I e-mailed the dealer too and just asked how many cars they thought that the link I sent them would sell.

Both of them-stupid with 2 o's.
