Default Sunroof Paint

Has this ever happened to anyone...

Yesterday I removed my sunroof in order to repair the stripped gears. After reinstalling the panel, I noticed that the paint seems cracked, kinda like loose shattered glass. I tried very hard not to flex the panel during install/removal, and I'm pretty sure I didn't.

For those who frequently remove/replace thier sunroofs over the years, have you ever experienced this?

Thanks in advance.

Had the roof off both my N/A and my 951 bunches of times over the years, never had that happen!

maybe the one you have is a custom fiberglass low weight sunroof panel. Mine doesn't flex much at all.

Mine will flex but not nearly enough to crack it.

Pictures maybe?

The panel shouldn't really flex at all. It was made to be removed multiple, multiple times. My 88 had the same issue but it was due to a bad clearcoat from a previous repaint. Don't know how to fix it other than having a shop repaint/clear it.
