Default found 87 951 may be back in the saddle

Hi all,

Been a while... almost 6 years since I've seen my last *of 4* 944. I stumbled across a local 951 with some issues *go figure* I could drop 5-7k for a nice 951, s2 or 968 but I would rather have something to tinker on.

Yes I will get a PPI...

87 951 with unknown miles. Probably 130k+. Owned by a college kid that has no idea how to work on it. The car runs and drives. Very sloppy shifter and has a slight miss at low RPMs. Looks very neglected. Power steering and a/c are also not working. The car also has some electrial issues, such as the signal lights wont work, sun roof etc. No rust from what I see.
The car also has a title issue. It was stolen back in the late 90's and seems that the insurance company wrote it off as a loss then it was recovered. I guess it was sold at a police auction with a salvage title.
I will try and pick it up for 1500 bucks and then have it as my take apart and fix toy. Maybe even turn it into a track toy.

I have a DD so no worries there and also a 2 car garage that I can work in.

Should I get back in the saddle or pass.

I would buy it for $1500 and part it. Take the profit and find something nicer I can assure you that a $1500 951 is nothing but a giant headache! I could type out the list of everything that will be wrong with it but it is too long. If it at least had a clear title that would help....

I would have to agree with Josh as he has parted quite a few 951's.

Drive the hell out of it till it goes boom, then part. It deserves to go out in a blaze of boosted glory, or turn it into a budget build 951. If you just do a little work, you can spend the balance on go fast goodies and have one hell of a track toy for not much coin.

Parts car! I would pick it up if I lived a little closer, but it's an expensive haul with a trailer and everything. Not to mention I am already trying to scrap another 944 parts car I have.
