Can anyone tell me if 968 calipers will bolt up to my 87 944S. Is it a practical upgrade or rather complicated. Logical upgrade?

 

See if you can pick up a copy of the latest Excellence magazine. I want to say that is what they did on their 1989 944 project car. I believe that they also stuck in 928 rotors or something. Check out the article.

The excellence article was about putting 928 S4 calipers & rotors on the front, 968 turbo calipers & rotors on the back... but the car was already equipped with 16" (or 17"?) 968 wheels. If yor S has 16" or 17" wheels, you've got a good start; this conversion won't fit 15's, I'm pretty sure.

My copy is at the office, I'll try to remember to look & see which wheels he had when I go in this evening.

Edit: just checked, the project was done on a car with 16" 968 wheels.

968 calibers are the same units as early 951 & S2 ones.

 

87 up,Just bolt them on .86 is diff because of the spindle ,hub.

 

I put 968 non-M030 front calipers on my 86 951. It was a direct fit...
