Default Steering wheel installation issue, wrong sized hub adaptor?

After a long wait, my new momo steering wheel and boss kit (hub adaptor) arrived from the US today. Yay! They both look great.

But, there is an issue

My car is an '83 944 (euro spec), and it seems the 'spindle'/axle that the hub adaptor slides on to is not matched to the hole in the hub adaptor. The hole is too large.

I'm just wondering if anybody knows what my problem might be, I was thinking that the seller may have sent me an 85.5-onwards unit instead of the early unit? I can post pics if my description is inadequate.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks Sean, I ordered a 8010 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT) but it looks like the seller might have sent me an 8002.
