944 Cup Nationals
SCCA Pro Racing and the 944 Cup have announced a signed contract for the VIR event in September to include the 944 Cup Nationals. The event, SCCA Pro Racing Sports Car Wars Weekend, will be held at Virginia International Raceway on the weekend of September 10‐12, 2010, and will feature 944 Cup only track sessions and races run group only.

Friday, September 10, 2010
Two 30 minute Practice sessions
Saturday, September 11, 2010
30 minute qualifying session
30 minute Qualifying race
Sunday, September 12, 2010
45 miniute Championship race
SCCA Pro Racing will provide registration services for this spectator event and event credentials for the 944 Cup portion of the Event: five credentials total to include the driver plus four (4) crew credentials. Crew members requiring hot pit access will be SCCA members, or apply for the SCCA annual ($80) or the single event ($35) temporary membership. All drivers must be SCCA members, and hold a current FIA or SCCA Pro Racing License. A single event Pro License is available for Cup drivers at $70 from SCCA Pro Racing.
All cars must meet SCCA ITS safety requirements and additional SCCA Pro Racing safety requirements including: approved head and neck devices, fire suppressant systems/or fire bottles, full face helmets, and fire suits. All cars will have an SCCA Club Racing issued logbook.
944 Cup gets to bring its own tire support company (that being Phil's Tire).
Also racing at this event will be World Challenge, Trans-Am, Spec Racer Ford, Formula Enterprises, VW Jetta TDI Cup Celebrity event, and Super Karts.
Last years 944 Cup Champions will lead the WC cars around the track on the parade lap in their 944 Cup cars providing the series for its first TV air time. WC has also offered up the opportunity for the 2009 Cup Champions a free entry into the World Challenge race which will air on VERSUS September 26, 2010, 4:30pm-6pm.
