What do having sex with a fat person and riding a moped have in common?
Both are fun to ride until your friends see you. <img border="0" alt="[icon107]" title="" src="graemlins/icon107.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[icon501]" title="" src="graemlins/icon501.gif" />

I had a puch moped in the 60's, guess i'm dating myself a bit. That was in Holland and the deal was to get them to go fast. Put 60cc cyl on it and 18 mm carb and scaveng exhaust. It was faster than most cars and in the end the frame got twisted. Lots of fun though.

Correction, I checked the numbers on the crank case and compared them to the manual and it's a 1 speed automatic, not a 2 speed. Wonder if eBay'll charge me for the correction...

I've been a member of mopedarmy for a long time. Have a number of silly little 2-strokes, including a Puch with a 70cc hop-up kit, amal carb, a high-flow pipe and larger front sprocket. It's so friggin loud, I can't really tune it at home. Causes too many angry neighbors. Thinking of selling it as well. too little time, too little cash flow...
Good luck with your auction.

Quick story: Guy I worked with in Nantucket's a bit of a biker, and he was riding his little moped somewhere. He saw some Harley guys on the side of a highway (crazy, right?) and he stopped to help out. They all kinda gave him a hard time about taking a look at the bike that wouldn't start. He walked over, picked up a reed of grass, stuck it up into the carb of the Harley, jiggled it to loosen some valve, and the bike started right up. He said peace and took off...Wish I could've seen their faces...

This thread brings back some memories of my old trac moped from about 20 years ago. It went 27 mph unless you hold the manual chock half way and hold the throttle 3/4 open to get 30 mph. If you flap your arms you can get 1 more mph. I carried extra spark plugs because they burn out often. It is the only vehicle where you can change the cylinder head, cylinder walls, and pistons by removing 4 10mm bolts and a flathead screw driver in 5 minutes. I would imagine the moped "rice" if similar things were done to a P car
