Default HOT air through the shift boot area.

I am about to replace my shift boot/**** however when driving home last friday I noticed alot of hot air pushing through the torn seam on my shift boot.
Anyone else had this problem? Is there a cover missing or something?

theres supposed to be foam insulation in there. take the shift boot off and see if its been removed. sometimes people install short throws or do linkage work and forget to put it back in

YES to both.
Foam is about $20 shipped from many eBay sellers.
The rubber inner boot is usually a Pelican part because most have dried out and are cracked.

While you are working on the shift lever, check for the "hour glass" wear on the shift lever to shift rod connection.

Replacing the inner rubber boot seemed to help the most.

Excellent advice guys. I will dig in today and have a look. I am almost certain the insulation is gone just by looking through the torn leather boot.

Checked it out. Rubber boot is torn, also insulation is there but it is pretty black. Need to see if there is a opening below all that.
