Default Rebuild Manual Rack + Shaft

I recently got a used manual steering rack from an 1983 944 and I was planning on putting it on my S2 (bought the late offset tie rods too!). However before I do all this I was wondering if anyone has an article on how to rebuild the manual rack and the shaft? I searched and I couldn't find anything.

Rebuilding shaft is easy. About a hour work. New joints costs here about 10 dollars each.
Dimensions are 15-40

I have a thread on modifying a PS shaft to fit. A new PS shaft is about $100. As for the rack, it just requires a cleaning, a visual inspection for gear wear, reassembly, and adjustment of the preload plunger.

There isn't much to the rack to be honest with you. There is one bearing up top IIRC, everything else is geared. There is a small bushing that is on the passenger side that the rack slides through, but i have never seen those wear (though i had one pop out of it's slot and make the steering really hard on track once).

Usually what I do is pull everything apart, clean it, re-grease, and reassemble.
