Factory Alarm Removal
I'm working on installing new speakers in the rear stock location since both mine have died. Passenger side is going swimmingly and plays fine, but I have a problem on the driver's side. The factory alarm key cylinder is giving me problems, and trying to disconnect the wiring to it is triggering the alarm. Would jumping the alarm pins as described on Clark's Garage allow me to remove the wires running to the alarm? I think it can clear the cylinder with the wiring removed, but I have no way of doing it without triggering an ear shattering horn blasting.
TL;DR - Can I disconnect the factory key alarm from the system without triggering it, and how?

Why is the alarm key giving you a problem ? You should be able to pull the side panel away enough to get your hand and a small offset screwdriver in there. Just don't drop a screw or the wires down in the body cavity. A couple weeks ago I did both rear speakers in less than an hour.

Sorted it out, I was trying to mount the wrong sized speaker - my late 951 should take 6.5" round speakers with the factory bracket removed, but I was trying to fit a 6x9 that was too deep. D'oh!
