89 spark wire replacement help

Question 89 spark wire replacement help

Searched forums and didn't find answer. Looking at new spark wires, and it looks like I need to remove fuel rail to get old ones out and new in. Wires are routed under fuel pressure regulator now. Is this normal routing?
Any problems expected with removing fuel rail.

My other old cars are a 67 MGB and a 66 Volvo Maintance on them takes 1/3 the time on my 944, I'm wondering about the superior German engeerning??

No need to remove the fuel rail, just plug the new wires onto the spark plugs first, then route the distributor cap end of the wires through the rail.

Sorry, no cigar- boots will not pass under fuel pressure regulator. other ideas??

89 is an 8 valve head right? Maybe 16s are different, but what doc suggested works on any 8v 944/951 I have seen, at least for stock, Lindsey Racing, and Magnecore wires.

Why the heck do you want to go underneath the fuel rail with your spark-plugs wire ,what they do they follow the fuel rail on the intake side,take a look at the pics.
