Post PICS: April 19th PeachState PCA Rally

EDIT: Damnit - I can NOT get this thing to keep from cutting off 2/3rd of my post (I've typed it 3 times now!) I'm giving up for now!

It was a slightly overcast and cool Saturday for the first PeachState PCA rally this year, but it wasn't raining. I wasn't even sure that I'd be able to participate in the rally due to work constraints, but I found out at 6pm on Friday that I'd be free to go. There were only a few small obstacles in my way - the first being my navigator (er, girlfriend who doesn't understand the 285 loop around Atlanta - d'oh! ) was already at her parents house for the holiday weekend - and that was an aditional 70 miles from the start of the rally. I got on the phone with her ASAP and we worked out a place to meet that was not to terribly out of the way for either of us and close to the spot where we would finish.

Saturday came and I got everything loaded and on the road with a minimal of hassle. Picked up the GF and we were headed back to the start to register, pay the fee and have a good afternoon. Unfortunately, when coming down the exit ramp, less than a mile from the start, my exhaust self destructed (I now have a Good argument against engine braking!). Apparently the weld just past the cat where the wastegate joints back in was weak, and the excessive pressure popped the whole thing apart ~ so now I had exhaust coming straight out of the cat (at a spot just behind the front seats) making

25 full sized pics : These are all the pictures I took that day, including one of each car there (at the finish). I kinda wish that blue cab would have run - it was an amazing looking car with the most beautiful Fuchs!

I'm dropping it off on Sunday. Depending on how long you were on the list, you might remember Tim Beynart from a few years back - he sold his 87 for a 2002, and now is coming back to the 87. I'm looking at picking up a ZRX (if they'd quit being sold from under me!)

I wanted to come to that so bad, but my car was just not ready enough to make it.

Brian,
I hear the ZRXs are nice. Have ridden one yet?
I don't remember Tim Beynart but then my memory is shot.

I pretty much just lurk on the list now. I'm half considering selling my 86 750 but can't seem to part with it.

Why are you on the fence about selling the 951?

It was quite the humorous event.
