Good call on the engine.
Start in stock form for awhile. Then upgrade the suspension. Then after you are good worry about the engine.
BTW... The local PCA is quite friend to 944 guys. Not as many 951 in the autocrosses as there were a couple years back, but that is due to the increase in 944-spec racers.
