AFM adaptor with K&N cone filter procedure with pics
I have gotten a few emails about how I did this so I am posting the procedure I used here. Hope this helps, worked great for me.
Here is what you need. The K&N filter I purchased from <a href="http://www.performanceintl.com" target="_blank">http://www.performanceintl.com</a> It is part# RX-4730 K&N universal filter 3" flange inside diameter Base 5 1/2" Top 5" Length 6 1/2"
The filter adapter was from ebay. It is a 90-95 4Runner intake adapter.
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2409625826&category=33659" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2409625826&category=33659</a>
You will need to drill 4 new holes in the adapter to line up with the AFM on your car. I also routed out part of the inside to allow the most air flow.
This is the filter adapter after modification.

This is it attached to AFM. I used 4 new bolts that were much shorter than the original bolts from AFM. You can get these at any hardware store.
<img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/intakeadapter2.JPG" alt=" - " />
And the finished product.

This did make a noticeable improvement over stock air box. And sounds great too! <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

500th post <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" /> Cool

Yes, you can use the filter that comes with it and your total cost for this mod is $11. I used that filter until the K&N came in. It worked good. I just trust the filtering of the K&N better. Also the K&N I used is the new one they have out with max air flow. I think it works a little better but no big noticeable difference.
