i dont think so because the car has a different spare. i had not tried it when i had the 951, S2 and NA at the same time.

I am sensitive to the OP because you would not believe the shyt i got from the M3 nutswingers when I asked the same question so i could run the 16" Rs i have from the S2/951S on the M3 the came with 17s.
I got lecture upon lecture about the obvious - more sidewall, less cooling, blah blah blah and nobody addressed which wheels would fit.

If the S2 has the baby brembos (like the turbos or 968's) I think you might be out of luck. I've run 16" D-90's on the 968 and there isn't any extra clearance with those.

I've never tried it, either, but have always been curious. I remember hearing something about it working with early-offset phones, but I'm not even sure what I heard. Of related interest, does anyone know whether the 15" NA spare will fit over non-M030 S2/Turbo brakes?

NCC is correct. They will not fit.
As to why the OP may be considering this: smaller wheels have an advantage in an autocross. Check the PCR's they do not permit putting smaller wheels on due to this advantage.

OP is considering it because OP just bought a set of track tires and wheels for his 944 that are 15" and maybe testing an S2 this weekend !!!

Greg (OP) you will love the S2 if you are comparing it to a 944 na. Most Turbo owners have a hard time going to an S2 because they love the boost. You however will love the extra torque and horespower.

I'm still just "kickin' the tires" at this point. We'll see if I can resist after a test drive.

So, what's a fair price for a well maintained '89 S2 with about 100K on the clock?

As an S2 owner this is my opinion only. An s2 in very good condition with that mileage is worth $9,000 to $11,000. One in fair to good condition $6,000 to $9,000.
How much are they asking for the car?

My evil plan would be to buy the S2, swap all of my suspension mods, seats and roll bar, from my 944 to the S2, and swap the S2 stuff onto my 944, then sell the 944 as "upgraded to 944 S2 suspension specs." Of course, that would mean ANOTHER torsion bar job, including installing and indexing. I don't know if I'm smart enough, lucky enough or patient enough to do it! Not to mention that the garage is about 130 degrees during the summer!
