Default anyone have experience with LR 944 exhausts?

I was looking at some exhausts for my 944S and Lindsey Racing seems to be the cheapest. Although I do not like that you have to cut the stock piece if you don't buy their headers. Anyone have this set up or a different company. Do you like it, what muffler do you have, etc.
Thanks

I have 4 inch LR exhaust for my Turbo. I got the magna flow which I do like and just a test pipe instead of a cat. I mounted it a couple weeks ago and have a few leaks because I am just using the seal clamps that were included with the kit. I plan on getting things welded together my next pay check and I recommend this from the start. Even with the leaks though it sounds great

I have Dansk cat back on both my N/A and my turbo, nice tones, and simple bolt on...

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...C%20Each%20%20

and polished SS looks good....

next round (while engine is out in the next few weeks) on my 951 will bring SFR or FabSpeed true 3 inch turbo back... so I will have a full 951 exhaust going up for sale, but that doesn't help on the S..

Take a look at the other vendors out there...

Keep in mind their (Lindsey) base price does not include the muffler, pre muffler, Cat, or tip, I just priced one for a full headers back (not including headers, using stock headers, including cat, muffler and slash cut rolled edge tip) and it was a hair over $650...

Also remember that LR exhausts are designed with slip fit connections, so you cannot use other manufacturer catbacks or catalytic converters, you must use theirs.

Don't waste you're money on the LR exhaust. If you are looking for a good sound, it's not going to be cheap. If you are looking for power, it won't be cheap. If you just want to say you put an exhaust on your S, then buy the LR exhaust, but you are going to want to throw it in the scrap pile after 1 test drive.

Could you list the bad things about it?

It's not stainless unless you pay extra for it, it sounds like ****, 3" is way too large of an exhaust for an N/A making the power ours do, and did I mention it sounds like ****?

I have always used 2.5" on my VW's. All N/A all performance P&P heads. I always stuck with the Borla muffler and was never disappointed.

The best bang for your buck performance mod for the S is to put a 924S trans in it. This has the shorter r&p of the standard 944 plus the short 5th gear.

If you want to make the car louder you can modify the stock muffler in a number of ways

I'm happy with the 3" LR exhaust on my 951. Sounds good, fits well. No need for SS, and who cares if the exhaust *underneath* the car where no one can see it is polished.

You need to use muffler paste on the slip joints.

I like the 3" LR exhaust on my 924S. I have a cat and a Magnaflow (and the MSDS headers), and I'm happy with how it all fits together. It gets a bit loud sometimes, but I like the tone. I've been considering swapping in the Borla muffler to see if that might yield a slight reduction in noise level (the magnaflow is definitely louder than I expected), but overall I'm very happy with the exhaust

I have the LR 3 inch with MSDS header and Magnaflow muffler with no cat on my n/a. There is nothing I dislike about it.

The PO put a 3" LR exhaust, no cat, on my car with an Edelbrock (that's right, Edelbrock) muffer on, and I like it. By the way, I've seen lots of videos and posts of guys with the common mufflers on our cars, but am yet to find anyone other than myself with an Edelbrock muffler. Anyone else out there with one that can vouch for me?
