Default lost the ball

Took the fuel rail cap off and heard something fall. Didn't realize till later that it was the ball bearing inside the cap used to plug the rail. Anyone know what size bearing is supposed to be? Don't want to order a replacement from the porsche dealer for a five cent bearing.

No idea. I can say I did the same thing and it did not leak. I eventually put it back in just as I was afraid it would have caused a leak later.

A lead ball would probably also work well.

I had the same issue, not expecting a metal ball to fly off the fuel rail. FWIW, I tried attaching the nut without the ball, and it leaked when there was fuel pressure. I was lucky enough to find the ball.

SIMPLE, Use your Shop Vac and clean your floor at the same time. You will hear when it gets sucked up in the vac, dig it out and finish cleaning the floor. If you were outside use a magnet.

Cheers,
Larry
