Troubleshooting oil pressure sensor
hi all,
since i've had the car as soon as the ignition is on the oil pressure guage pegs at maximum.
can someone please tell me what it could be and how I can go about troubleshooting this problem? pics would help!
I have access to a 944 parts car so need to know what the problem is before i trouble the owner to pull off the sensor for me.
cheers!

I had that problem after I put trim rings on the instruments. I pulled the cluster back out and checked for loose connections. Didn't find anything wrong really, but afterwards everything worked right again. Maybe the connectors to your cluster need some attn?

Correct on the cross wires.
If this does not help, you might have a short in the wires to the oil pressure guage.
Trace the wires back up and over the waterpump.
Is the seathing cracked-are bare wires touching?
Caution: The posts on the oil pressure guage are HOLLOW and break off easy. gentle
