Post does length matter when it comes to catalytic converters?

Finally after about 6 months I am getting Bursch headers!!!! yeha!!!! <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> But since my factory cat is shot, I am looking at a Dynomax Superconvertor in the Jegs catalog. There are 2 in there. One is an 18" and the other is a 13.25" long. Is there a difference regarding filtration of the exhaust between these 2 different sizes???? There will be custom work done to fit an aftermarket cat underneath my car with the headers on it. Any suggestions on the size up there?

I'd go with the smallest one. I have a Catco Cat that is ~14" long. The original cats are long and round, but most aftermarket are the standard oval shape. I would imagine the 944 can't produce the sort of volume to make a large Cat needed - more for trucks or high displacement engines.

Good Luck!

Except in losing... losing by an inch is the same as losing by a mile.

I have the catco cat on mine as well. I passed emissions with flying colors on my first test. No complaints here for the shorter version.
