Trunk seal gap?

My guess is that it just shrunk from years of sun, heat and agitation (open-close-open-close).

But I guess that's just what she said.

John, could you spare enough of that hatch seal for me? I still have to PM you about the Ostrich, too!

Just shoot me a PM either here or on RW... let me know how much seal you need... I will post up some pics when I get home today of the 2 seals side by side... I would post them now, but can't get to photobucket at work....

If I would buy a new seal from Porsche would they have this problem ?

I have this problem too, but was considering a new hatch seal.
How low are you John? If you have enough I will join in..

Eventually yes, but then the original lasted how long??

Pics as promised... on the right is the old seal I just took off my N/A.. on the left the left over segment from the new seal I just installed to my N/A... new seal just presses right on, and trim to size with a good pair of shears... or large wire cutters...

Factory replacement is $120ish.... a full car seal of mine (16ft, virtually identical to the factory seal) is about 1/4 the cost... play nice in the sandbox as I know at least 2 cars running arround with this as last years christmas gifts...
