Wouldn't it be nice to rig up some sort of a wire to the underside of the badge that will release a large spring loaded machete from under the front bumper?

I mean you might have a dent in your hood where they do a face plant right in the middle of your car because they have to way to balance themselves anymore, but I think it would be worth it.

Exclamation

wow... that sucks... BAD

*edit* due to my lack of proofreading, this sentence has been removed in favor of the following:

"WARNING

Keep glove compartment door closed while driving to prevent injury during a collision"

- Porsche owners manual

Trevor,

I feel your pain. Several months ago some little A-Holes in my neighborhood decided to steal the nice used hood crest I pulled off of a wrecked 924S at Partsheaven. It was the nicest used one they had and just what I was looking for. It only lasted 4 days on my car before it was taken. At least they didn't bugger up the paint. Sorry to hear you are a victim too.

Replace the badge, put the car back out where it was the last time it was stolen, and wait around the corner with a BIG ****ING GUN and shoot the SOB who did it.

At least, that's my anger showing through

I voluntarily removed mine and installed a sticker instead - reduced coefficient of drag - I can now beat turbocharged 968's

Seriously, it reduces my frustration when cleaning or waxing, and makes it fairly thief-proof - removed the rear stuff too.

Ya know - it is metal... and, metal conducts electricity... well... the results of mischevious behavior could be SHOCKING

That would make me unseasonably, unreasonably, infeasibly angry.

I'm glad I live in an area where I have room to park the car out of sight. When I'm not home driving the car around, no one can even tell I've got it.

Yeah, me too! When I'm out driving the car around, nobody can tell I have a Porsche by looking where it isn't.

How sweet is that?

By the way, don't take offense. I'm just punch-drunk from overwork.

Just silly. Just plain SILLY.

If you had the original style badge now would be a good time to uprade to the newer 993 badge. Besides, if you do what PrerYdog suggested it will be a bigger draw for the unsuspecting victim

MAN! I HATE that sh**! I saw your pics on the "Why is there always a 911..." thread, and that car looks amazing! Great photo's too- sorry to hear that some jack *** messed w/it. I hope he drove off a cliff on the way home- I remember several nice, tall cliffs in the SF area from the last time I was there- yeah, nice, tall cliffs- like the one Bart Simpson was going to jump over on his skateboard- like Otto said about it- "Yeah... I bet you could throw a dead body down there and nobody'd EEEEEVVVVVER find it!" Of course, I'm not suggesting anything....

The problem IS that the badge style used on the 944/968 looks better than the earlier and later styles. I'm not sure if I can get a new one, I'll have to drive over to Parts Heaven and see what they have. Dunno if I could settle for a sticker, the badge has a golden luster that makes me smile. Bummer about what happened though because if the damb thing was ever to come off I'd have liked to at least keep it along with the single Ruf center cap I've got.
