Overheating
Well.....
Just got back from a two week vacation and my car breaks down on the way to work this morning!
It overheated and it appears the fans aren't running. Neither one. I replaced the relays in 96 or 97, could they be gone again? How can I check? Where are they? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx guys

First thing to check is the radiator. It should be warm or hot. If it is cold then you are not getting water flow through either a bad water pump or thermostat.
Fans...Hmm, I direct wire my fans on my race car since I had problems with them not working. For street car this only a band-aid. You can rig up a wire to direct wire them to besure the motors did not fail. Or you can get the radiator hot and then check for a voltage on the wiring going into the fans. Also you can check the the resistance across the fan switch when hot. Obviously if the there is an open circut across the fan swtich then you have a bad fan switch in the radiator. If it is good then you have bad circuit to the fans.
Hope this helps some.

IF you get the thermostat checked or replaced make sure they replace the inner seal on th e water pump where the thermostat seats when it opens. Mine was running just a bit warmer than I thought it should; the thermostat was fine but that inner seal was eaten away. New seal, and it is just over the first bar and at the first bar cruising.

I commented b/c I overheated one night, realized neither fan was coming on and hit the A/C - they roared up immediately
Mine ended up being a broken Tstat.
